Sintra & Cascais Tours

Experts discovered Lisbons west in the last years as a top class bike resort. Meanwhile for most of Lisbons visitors it´s still an insider tip. Where the smoove Rio Tejo meets the rough Atlantic, where the steep cliffs fall down from calm forests of Serra de Sintra to the wild waves of the Atlantic, is a real bikers paradise. Hundreds of trails, broad dirt roads an well as thrilling singletrails offer the right conditions for everybody from relaxed weekend bikers to downhill experts.

The mainfocus on this tours isn´t on very mountainbike-experienced riders, but on the midclass sportsman & -woman. Nevertheless this is outdoor sport and requires – sometimes more, sometimes less – fitness and experience. Selecting a tour that doesn´t fit with your abilities isn´t fun for anybody. Not for you, neither for me or the rest of our group. The tour categories will help you to find the right tour for you. For any further doubts do not hesitate to ask. There is the right tour for everybody

Cascais Bike Escape
3 h Mountainbike-Tour, flat, 25 km, 250 Hm

Parede, where our tour starts, is located between Lisbon and Cascais. We got a few kilometres through the villages to get used to the bikes before we reach the protected area of Quinta do Pisao. On dirtroads and a few easy singletrails we cross this area covered by wide fields, pine, olive and eucalyptus forests in the beautyful scenery between the natural park of Sintra and the ocean.
Once  we are back on the road we are on our way down to the coast, where we end up with smoove crusing along the Atlantic along the beaches of Estoril and Sao Pedro.

This is a 25 km ride, a everybodys tour as long as you consider yourself as more or less sporty. You should know to cycle, special bike skills are not necessary. Nevertheless biking is an outdoor sport activity and we interact with traffic. How carefully we ever are, there is always a remaining risk. Participation is on own responsibility! Helmets are mandatory!

A real highlight of Lisbon's surroundings are the natural and cultural area of Sintra and the breathtaking coast nearby. Serra de Sintra, the mountains between Sintra in the north and Cascais in the south got a microclimate that provides a plenty of special vegetation in this evergreen natural resort. In the west it´s bordered by Cabo da Roca, Europe's westend. High cliffs fall down immediately into the rough Atlantic here, what formed a outstanding landscape. Next exit: America. A class of it own!

Where Serra de Sintra and Rio Tejo meet the Atlantic we find breathtaking views and hidden beaches everywhere.
Uphill hhrough the dense forests, downhill with an unbeatable view to the Atlantic.
Our target is the second highest peak of the mountain range. Maybe one of the toughest tours in Serra de Sintra, but with force and will we got compensated with amazing views!

Only a few km west of Lisbon the continet ends and meets the rough Atlantic. This is where Cascais and Lisbons beaches are located. This simple tour starts right outside of Lisbon, but easy to acess and leads us all along the beautiful coastline at the end of Rio Tejo.

A very easy, but beautyful ride that brings you away from the city rush and calms you down with the salty atlantic waves
